Pioneer Electric Cooperative has opened its scholarship programs for graduating students of accredited high schools in Butler, Dallas, Lowndes or Wilcox counties.

The company is sponsoring seven $1,000 scholarships to "traditional" students who are continuing their studies at post-secondary or vocational/technical institutions.

Those who receive these scholarships are required to be dependents of Pioneer Electric members.

The lineworker program is offering two $5,000 scholarships for eligible students who attend an accredited 15-week lineworker training program. They do not have to be dependents of Pioneer Electric members.

The deadline to apply is Feb. 20 and can be done here.
