The PREP Center graduation ceremony originally set for Wednesday, July 3 has been canceled due to a small number of COVID cases among the graduates.Â
"All proper safety protocols were observed, and medical staff is on-site. None of the participants are in serious condition after testing positive for COVID-19," said a press release from the Alabama Bureau of Pardons and Paroles. "The Bureau stands firm in its commitment to protecting public and private stakeholders and the participants who reside at the PREP Center."
The press release stated that the more than 50 graduates have received certificates, as well as certificates for succeeding in individually tailored technical programs.
Additionally, the press release said that other graduations are planned in the coming months.Â
