A graduation ceremony at the PREP Center in Uniontown on Friday, April 4 at 10 a.m. is part of a series of events in honor of National Second Chance Month.
An announcement from the Alabama Bureau of Pardons and Paroles (ABPP) said that, since opening in April 2022, none of the graduates of PREP have returned to prison.
“I am deeply grateful for the unwavering commitment of our dedicated law enforcement officers and staff. Every day, we change lives through our hard work, providing the guidance and support needed for successful reentry," said Bureau Director Cam Ward.
"Our efforts not only create opportunities for individuals seeking a second chance but also build safer, stronger communities across Alabama. Second Chance Month gives us the opportunity to reflect on this vital work and embrace new innovations to continuously improve and strengthen our programs even further.”
Rep. Prince Chestnut will deliver remarks. A livestream of the graduation can be viewed here.
The PREP Center is located at 4805 U.S. Highway 80 in Uniontown.
