The Presbyterian Home for Children gave Easter gifts to children in the Pine Hill community in Wilcox County on Friday.
The Talladega-based children's home gave Easter bags of toys and candy to 63 children along with meals at Leona’s Kitchen in Pine Hill.
The Home, which was officially formed in Selma to care for orphans left behind after the Civil War, is located in Talladega but takes in children from across the state.Â
CEO Doug Marshall credited efforts to Valerie Jones in the Home's Development Department and Linda Harris, Director of Education for Ascension Leadership Academy, who had the school's children help with the Easter bags.
The toys were given by June Weir and First Lutheran Church of Birmingham.
