On Wednesday at 4 p.m. a press conference by pastors and law enforcement leadership will announce a prayer vigil that is scheduled for June 7.
The purpose of the vigil is to address recent tensions that have occurred throughout the country, according to a press release sent to media today.
“We have two goals,” the release stated. “1) pray for a healing from racism and violence within our community and nation, 2) initiate a series of conversations and actions that will lead our community while developing models for reconciliation between black and white, government and its people, police and black community, faith and politics, and more…”
The press conference will be held at Bloch Park. The vigil on June 7 is set to take place at 3 p.m. at the same location.
