Troy University's Associate Professor of Trombone at the 2025 International Trombone Festival in London, Ontario, Canada on July 16.

Dr. Jason Sulliman will present research on brass pedagogy for the fourth time at the festival and will perform “Nightcall,” composed by his colleague Dr. Traci Mendel.

“ITF is the major event for the world of trombone, and I am thrilled to share a great composition written by Dr. Mendel to an international audience of trombone enthusiasts," said Sulliman. "Her work captures so much depth while remaining highly accessible for collegiate trombonists."

Sulliman will also be a judge for the George Roberts Bass Trombone competition.

“The George Roberts Competition honors outstanding musicianship of bass trombonists who are 20 years old or younger, and students from all over the world submit recordings for consideration," he said. "The finalists play a live round at the festival, and the list of past winners is a ‘who’s who’ of the great professionals of today. It will be a real treat to be a part of their journey.”
