The Reentry Task Force will meet tomorrow at the Alabama State House to discuss measures to reduce recidivism and help Alabamians leaving the prison system to "succeed".Â
The task force will present a report from the Reentry Alabama Commission and implement its findings to help those leaving the justice system to adjust to life and find gainful employment, as well as housing.Â
The meeting will be held at 2 p.m. in Room 200 of the Alabama State House. It will also be livestreamed.Â
Members of the task force include legislators appointed by Alabama State Senate and Alabama House of Representatives leadership as well as representatives from the Alabama Bureau of Pardons and Paroles, Alabama Department of Workforce, Alabama Supreme Court, Alabama Community College System, Ingram State Technical College, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Alabama Department of Mental Health, Department of Human Resources, Alabama Medicaid, Alabama Department of Corrections, Alabama Department of Veterans Affairs and the Alabama District Attorneys Association, as well as representatives of municipal government, people with experience and justice advocates from the nonprofit sector.
