The Rockin’ Riboff and Rick Carter Songwriter Festival held in June raised $5,000 for the Dallas County Court Services' Rise and Recover program.

According to the Blackbelt Benefit Group, Rise and Recover provides drug and alcohol recovery services to more than 200 residents a month.

The event has prompted the group to raise more funds for the program at the upcoming Alabama River Chili Cookoff on Oct. 23.

In an online announcement Blackbelt Benefit Group thanked the sponsors, teams and attendees of the recent festival.
