The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Alabama District and the Alabama APEX Accelerators will hold a government contracting workshop on Oct. 17.Â
The workshop will cover the SBA Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) program in addition to government contracting.Â
"The City of Selma is located in a HUBZone and therefore individuals living in Selma may find business opportunities in government contracting to take advantage of," said a press release from SBA.Â
"The HUBZone program fuels small business growth in historically underutilized business zones with a goal of awarding at least 3% of federal contract dollars to HUBZone-certified companies each year. The government limits competition for certain contracts to businesses in historically underutilized business zones."
The workshop will be held at Wallace Community College Selma's Hank Sanders Building, Room 112 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Click here to register.Â
