The Selma City School Board is working on the contract for its new superintendent, Dr. David Scott.
At their March 11 meeting, the board discussed details about Scott’s contract. The board agreed to meet at a special called meeting to work out further details.
Scott, who was hired in February, has more than 30 years of experience in education, most recently as Director of Curriculum and Instruction in Tuscaloosa County. He replaces Dr. Zickeyous Byrd, who retired in October after two years at Selma City Schools.
In other business, the board granted permission for students to attend the annual Future Business Leaders of America conference in Mobile in April. Selma High School student Zakenzie Milhouse is district secretary to the leadership council and is now set to run for the District 3 vice president. She has also won awards for speaking from FBLA.
RB Hudson students attended the meeting to campaign for an FBLA program for their school.
