The Selma & Dallas County Economic Development Authority (EDA) has received a $5,000 grant from the Alabama Power Foundation.

Funding will go to "enhance the alignment" of local, regional, and state workforce resources; as well as expand marketing of workforce and training opportunities, integrating new technology and to launch an annual industry summit and monthly ALIGN resource meetings for employers.

"These initiatives are part of the EDA’s broader strategy to ensure that industries can quickly identify and access the right workforce solutions, enabling residents to enter, upskill, or advance within the regional talent pipeline," said a press release from the EDA.

"By improving coordination and communication among workforce partners, the EDA aims to deliver faster, more effective support to employers while expanding career pathways for jobseekers."
