Selma Interpretive Center Ranger Teresa Hall gave a presentation on May 20 recognizing the experiences of African Americans who served in the U.S. Armed Forces through history.
This presentation was followed by guest speaker Henry Allen. Allen spoke of his experiences as a soldier in the Vietnam war, what he faced when he returned, and his enlistment as the first African American in the Alabama Army National Guard.Â
