Selma lifts boil notice after repairs to water works system

The water boil notice for Selma has been lifted after Mayor James Perkins Jr. announced that the city has completed repairs to its water distribution system and that purity has been restored. 

With the water system being reportedly back to normal the Water Board has discontinued distributing bottled water. 

However, inclement weather today and next week may have an impact for residents as temperatures are expected to drop to freezing levels, prompting a warning to take precautions. 

"Because of the risks of water system damage from violent and/or freezing weather conditions, we are requesting that customers take water conservation measures, meaning limit our water usage as much as practical," said Perkins. "As information about the upcoming threatening weather becomes available, we will make the public aware."
