Selma native Darian Walton won the runner up title in the recent Miss Progressive Black Men Inc. Scholarship’s Miss Emerald pageant in Tallahassee, Florida.
Walton, a 2024 graduate of Selma High School and psychology student at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, earned the runner up title in the pageant that was hosted by the Godfather Chapter at FAMU.
Walton was a Bill Gates scholarship recipient majoring in forensic psychology.
The Miss Progressive Black Men scholarship event celebrates talented women, showcases leadership, poise and community dedication and features contestants competing for scholarships and the crown while embodying the organization's values of service and excellence, especially at HBCUs.Â
