The Selma Police Department (SPD) is searching for a suspect who allegedly stole a vehicle and crashed it before fleeing the scene.Â
According to an announcement online, the SPD received a call about a stolen vehicle on the 2800 block of Citizens Parkway. When officers arrived they reviewed surveillance footage of the suspect committing the theft.Â
Later the vehicle and the suspect were located at the 1500 block of Church Street when an officer attempted to make a traffic stop. The suspect refused and drove away at a high speed that the SPD said endangered property and nearby citizens.Â
The vehicle was found having crashed into residence sometime later and the suspect fled. No injuries were reported.Â
Anyone who has information on the case is asked to contact the Selma Police Department at 334-874-2125 or their local law enforcement.
