A Selma teen died in a one-car crash on Friday.

State Troopers say a 17-year-old Selma resident died when the 2014 Ram 1500 he was driving left the road at 1:20 p.m. and struck several trees.

The teen was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment and later succumbed to injuries and was pronounced deceased, troopers reported.

The crash occurred on Dallas County 3 near Dallas County 33, approximately two miles north of Orrville in Dallas County.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
