On March 15 the U.S. Senate passed a bill that would end the need to change clocks at daylight saving time.

The legislation is titled the Sunshine Protection Act and is said will create more economic activity and may have health and sleep benefits according to a report from Reuters.

The bill is supported by many, including Republican Senator Marco Rubio, but is opposed by the National Association of Convenience Stores.

If the bill is passed by the House of Representatives it will go to President Joe Biden to be signed into law. If it is signed into law the change would take effect in 2023.
