Rep. Terri Sewell (AL-07) is accepting internships for her Washington D.C. and district offices in fall 2026.

An announcement from Sewell encourages college students and recent graduates interested in government and public service to apply to work with her staff on legislative, communications, and administrative tasks.

Interns will research legislation, draft letters, compile media clips, answer constituent calls, and attend legislative hearings, briefings, and seminars.

Sewell's office is interested in Alabama students beginning their junior or senior years in an undergraduate program by September 2026. Students with strong written and oral communication skills, the ability to multitask, attention to detail, and "a willingness to learn" are being sought.

“Interns are our future leaders, advocates, and changemakers,” said Sewell. “Through my fall internship program, students have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in Congress, learn about the legislative process, and help serve the constituents of Alabama’s 7th Congressional District. As someone who benefited from mentors who opened doors and created opportunities, I know how important it is for young people to see themselves in positions of leadership and public service. I encourage all interested students to apply and take advantage of this unique opportunity.”

The deadline to apply is July 6 at 9 a.m. See here for more information.
