Several local students were the recipients of scholarships presented by the Selma Housing Authority or SHA.

Jakira Tolbert and Cedriauna Eaton were awarded with SHA's SHA Betty Finney Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 each.

Cedriauna Eaton received a $2,500 scholarship from the Alabama Housing Authorities Education and Enrichment Fund.

"Their future is bright, and we are honored to support the next generation of leaders, changemakers, and professionals," said a post from SHA on social media. "Keep striving, keep believing, and keep making Selma proud!"
