A statue dedicated to civil rights activist and representative for Georgia, John Lewis, was unveiled in Montgomery on Tuesday.
The statue was unveiled by the Equal Justice Initiative in the presence of Lewis' family.
"We hope the statue inspires future generations to get in “good trouble” and keep pushing for a brighter, more just world," said a post by the City of Montgomery on social media.
Lewis was one of others to be injured on Bloody Sunday in 1965 and in other incidents during the push for desegregation and voting rights.
Lewis died in 2020 at the age of 80.
