COVID did not slow down economic development in Dallas County in 2020, and it is expected to grow even more in 2021.
Despite COVID, Selma-Dallas County Economic Development Authority Executive Director Wayne Vardaman said they have been very busy with interest from companies in large land parcels for solar panels and aviation firms looking at Craig Field Airport & Industrial Authority.
COVID forced many meetings with prospective companies to be virtual. To adapt to the new COVID world, the EDA invested in conference room monitors for virtual conferencing and Zoom meetings, Vardaman said.
