Sturdivant Hall's Annual Barbecue on the Green set for Oct. 9

Sturdivant Hall’s Annual Barbecue on the Green will be hosted on Thursday, October 9, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The event will feature dinner catered by Lannie’s Bar-B-Q Spot and live music by Ed Williams.

There will be a silent art auction with pieces by by Jennifer Levins, Nan Cunningham, Barbara Davis, Caroline Sherrer, Charlie Lucas, Anne Strand, Porter Rivers, Sarah Wagoner, Bradford Bracken, Shirley Quarles Baird, Anne Smith Reeves, Jerry Siegel, Tres Taylor, Jean Pearson, Patsy Smith, Frances Rebula, Katy Jacob, and others.

The silent art auction preview will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the museum. Dinner will be served from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. outdoors in the back lawn.

Takeout plates will be available for pickup via drive-thru from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the parking lot accessible by Union Street.

Tickets are $30 per person and can be purchased from any Sturdivant Hall Board Member or from the Sturdivant Hall Museum located on 713 Mabry Street. Limited tickets can be purchased at Carter Drug Co., the Selma-Dallas County Public Library, and the Selma-Dallas County Chamber of Commerce.

Proceeds will go to the museum and its annual programs.
