A suspect has been identified and arrested for the 2022 murder of 19-year-old David Werking in Montgomery.

According to Central Alabama CrimeStoppers the crime took place on July 12, 2022 on Atlanta Highway and Perry Hill Road. A cash reward was eventually offered and increased to $5,000 for information on the suspect.

The case remained unsolved until recently when investigators received an anonymous tip that led to the arrest of Travontaye Rudolph, 27, as the alleged suspect.

He was arrested on May 24 and placed in the Montgomery County Detention Facility without bond. He has been charged with capital murder.

"The Werking family would like to thank the Montgomery Police Department, CrimeStoppers, and those involved in the apprehension of Travontaye Rudolph," said a post on CrimeStoppers' Facebook page. "The Werking family is thankful for the community’s support and prayers and for tipsters coming forward with information in this ongoing investigation."

"The Werking family asks anyone with additional information to still come forward, as the investigation is ongoing. The Werking family encourages anyone that has information about any violent crime to come forward with information."
