Tale Tellin' drive in movie to be held on Thursday

This Thursday a drive in movie will recount the tales of Kathryn Tucker Windham this Thursday on Oct. 1 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. 

The movie will be held at the corner of Church St. and Alabama Ave. and will be a free event.  

Kathryn Tucker Windham was an author and folklorist known for her numerous books, some of which include collections of ghost stories such as her first publication, "13 Alabama Ghosts and Jeffrey". 

She was born in Selma and spent much of her life in Thomasville. She had a career as a journalist and photographer in addition to her work as a folklorist before her death in June, 2011. 

The annual Tale Tellin' Festival in Selma is in her honor.
