Rep. Terri Sewell (AL-07) is taking applications for students in the seventh district for Military Service Academies.
“Nominating students in our district to attend our United States military service academies is one of my most satisfying duties as a Member of Congress,” said Sewell in an announcement. “After all, there is no greater act of patriotism than choosing to serve as a part of our nation’s armed forces."
"An education from a military service academy is a great way to jumpstart your career and develop exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills that will serve you well for years to come. I encourage all graduating seniors to consider this exciting opportunity.”
Applications are being taken for the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA), Naval Academy (USNA), Coast Guard Academy (USCGA), Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA), and Military Academy (USMA) at West Point.
Nominations are not required for the U.S. Coast Guard Academy but are made based on their own independent process.
An information session will be held at Central Alabama Community College on Sept. 22 at 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on 1320 Old Ridge Road in Prattville.
