A resolution was passed by the Troy City Council during a meeting on March 25 declaring an emergency following the tornado event that struck on March 15.

According to the Troy Messenger, the resolution was passed to make the city eligible for funding. While the tornado caused damage there were no deaths.

Troy Mayor Jason Reeves estimated the damage to be $3 million. The city seeks funding from FEMA and the Alabama Emergency Management Agency or AEMA.

Reeves reportedly went on to express his gratitude to the first responders who assisted, as well as the city employees, during the weather events.
