More than $500,000 was raised for scholarships, academics, athletics and student programs at Troy University (TU) during its recent Giving Day event.
A total of $523,610 was collected from 458 donors in 24 hours, said an announcement from TU, which called it the most successful one so far.
“To those who have given and support this wonderful place called [Troy University], I thank you. You have made a big difference, and that’s what we strive to do,” said Chancellor Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr.
Matching contributions were provided by Onick and Heather Lewis, Horn Beverage, Mr. Jerry Williams, Brian Smith, and Sound of the South Alumni Chapter, as well as anonymous donors.
Challenges were given by the Troy University Alumni Association and Jason Bennett
