In an announcement on his Facebook page, Perry County Commissioner Albert Turner Jr. gave several updates related to roads in the county.Â
Turner said that strips currently being installed on Albert Turner-Jimmie Lee Jackson Highway from County Road 6 to the Marion city limits are nearing completion. The southern portion of the highway will be resurfaced in July.Â
New strips have been installed on the Coretta Scott King Highway from the Marion city limits to the Hale County line, he said.Â
Additionally, Turner's announcement said that the Perry County Commission voted to join the Alabama Safe Road Program with Autauga, Elmore, and Chambers counties for a multi-million dollar highway grant.Â
"Chairman Turner noted that this collaboration with adjacent counties would yield a higher return for Perry County than going it alone," his announcement stated.
