Two juveniles were arrested Saturday night in the shooting death of a 40-year-old Selma man in the Walmart parking lot on Friday night.
Selma Police Department Lt. Ray Blanks said a 16 year old and a 17 year old were arrested for capital murder and discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle Saturday evening, according to Selma police.
Both suspects are being held in the Perry County Correctional Center with no bond.
Blanks said in a news conference earlier on Saturday that victim Marcus Martin apparently “got caught up in the middle” of a disagreement between at least two persons that started inside Walmart and “spilled out” into the parking lot at around 8 p.m. on Jan. 31. Gunshots were exchanged. Police found Martin shot to death in his truck in the Walmart parking lot.
