The two men killed in a plane crash in Sardis on Wednesday have been identified as U.S. Navy pilots.
The Navy confirmed the names to media on Friday as Capt. Vincent Segars, commanding officer of the Naval Aviation Schools Command at Naval Air Station in Pensacola, and Cmdr. Joshua Fuller, an integration officer for the command’s naval introductory flight evaluation program, according to the Pensacola News Journal.
The pilots were flying a private single-engine plane when it crashed off Dallas County Road 138 near the J.B. Hain farming community, about two miles southwest of Craig Field around 4:40 p.m. Wednesday.
The National Transportation and Safety Board is investigating the cause of the crash.
