The suspect of a shooting in Union Springs that injured a 65-year-old man on Sunday has turned himself in, said an announcement from CrimeStoppers 215 Stop. 

According to the announcement the suspect, Artavious Darnell Eldridge, 18, turned himself in within 24 hours. The condition of the victim has not been released. 

Eldridge was wanted for the shooting that took place at the 200 block of Tye Avenue. He now faces a charge of assault in the first degree. 

"This is a strong reminder that community involvement works," said the announcement from CrimeStoppers 215 STOP. "When information is shared, results follow."
