The Girl Scouts of Uniontown hosted a blood drive on Jan. 21 in honor of National Blood Donor month.

The Girl Scouts partnered with LifeSouth Community Blood Centers for the event in the parking lot of Dollar General. While the girls were in school, their troop leader Brittany Lee was on site helping promote the drive, welcoming donors and experiencing firsthand how service projects can make a real impact in their community.

This project reflects the Girl Scouts' mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place, Lee said.
