The upcoming Alabama River Chili Cookoff will raise funds for the WINGS program this Thursday, Nov. 7.Â
"Join us in supporting the WINGS program, which is a volunteer based respite program at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church working to end the isolation of dementia with a primary goal of giving caregivers a break while providing a safe and happy environment for their loved ones," said a post on social media by the Blackbelt Benefit Group.Â
Terry Chestnut will be a DJ for the event. 20 teams will take part in the competition and chili will be available for $5 per bowl.Â
Teams will meet at Tally-Ho Restaurant at 5:30 p.m.
