This year was the best attended Chili Cook Off

Organizers say the Alabama River Chili Cookoff is the best attended so far.

The upcoming Alabama River Chili Cookoff will raise funds for the WINGS program this Thursday, Nov. 7.

"Join us in supporting the WINGS program, which is a volunteer based respite program at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church working to end the isolation of dementia with a primary goal of giving caregivers a break while providing a safe and happy environment for their loved ones," said a post on social media by the Blackbelt Benefit Group.

Terry Chestnut will be a DJ for the event. 20 teams will take part in the competition and chili will be available for $5 per bowl.

Teams will meet at Tally-Ho Restaurant at 5:30 p.m.
