When Valley Grande Elementary students returned to school after a long COVID and summer break, they had more than just new plexiglass dividers to greet them.
They had a new principal – John Brandon Solomon.
Solomon joined Assistant Principal Marcus Turner to make for an unusual male leadership duo.
Many elementary schools have at least one female leader, but Dallas County Superintendent Hattie Shelton said it is great to give a school male role models to follow who show that going into education is an option for everyone.
