A man from Valley Grande has been arrested for allegedly stealing nearly $60,000 from his grocery store employer.

According to WAKA, Lowell Furlow, 48, has been charged with theft of property in the first degree. He is accused of stealing from Dave's Market since early this year.

Dallas County Sheriff Mike Granthum said that Furlow would deliver groceries to households. If customers paid with a check he would return it to the store but if they paid with cash he would keep it for himself, he said.

Furlow was placed in jail with a $30,000 bond.
