A wagon tour at Old Cahawba will give a presentation of the historic area’s African-American population and their efforts for freedom before the voting rights movement many years later.

“Road to Freedom Wagon Tour” will focus on a group of African-Americans who were formerly slaves and how they gathered at the courthouse in Cahawba. The tour will discuss slavery and the eventual progress to freedom.

The tour will take place on Saturday, Feb. 1 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. The fee is $10 for adults and $8 for children.

Old Cahawba is located at 9518 Cahaba Rd. in Orrville.
