A Wilcox County man has been found guilty of a shooting death in Gee’s Bend in 2023.

David Moseley was found guilty by a Wilcox County jury on Friday in connection with the 2023 killing of Enrico Tolar and with a separate robbery charge, the 4th Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office announced.

Moseley was convicted of killing Tolar in an argument.

The case was tried in Camden from Sept. 23–26 before Judge Don McMillan. After just over an hour of deliberation, the jury found Moseley guilty of manslaughter in the death of Tolar and second degree theft of property, a lesser-included offense stemming from a robbery charge.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Bryan Jones and Cynthia Bockman, who presented the evidence to the jury.

“Each time a life is lost, that is one too many,” District Attorney Robert H. Turner Jr. said. “ADA Bockman and ADA Jones did an outstanding job preparing this case and putting the facts before the jury. We are proud that this matter was brought to trial within 25 months of its commission, and that the people of Wilcox County have received justice.”

The investigation was led by the Wilcox County Sheriff’s Department, with critical assistance from investigator Ron Baggette and partner agencies.

Moseley will be sentenced later this year by Judge McMillan.
