A woman from Sandy Springs, GA was killed during a two-vehicle crash in Greene County on March 31. 

A report from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) identified the victim as 

Shelia A. Powell, 64, was the passenger of a 2022 Hyundai Venue that left the road, struck a cable barrier, and overturned before being struck by a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 pickup driven by Jack C. Farrell, 22, of Pelham.

Powell was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene. Farrell and the driver of the Hyundai, Luke L. Powell, 61, of Atlanta, Ga., were injured and taken to a hospital for treatment. 

The crash reportedly took place on Interstate 59, near the 47 mile marker, approximately seven miles north of Eutaw.
