163 youth livestock exhibitors took part in the Alabama National Fair livestock contests in Montgomery with eight winners being chosen.
Among those competing was Ashbee Norman, 18, from Montgomery County, who exhibited cattle. She is a third-generation livestock showman.
“My sister, mom and grandfather all showed cattle,” she said in a story by ALFA Farmers. “This was something I grew up around and knew I wanted to do. Now, I have grown to love it.”
Youths won in the categories of senior showmanship, intermediate showmanship, junior showmanship, beginner showmanship, senior premier exhibitor, intermediate premier exhibitor, junior premier exhibitor, and beginner premier exhibitor.
