Don McNees, age 76, of Millport, AL passed away January 19, 2024 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, MS. Private graveside services were 2:00 pm Monday, January 22, 2024 at Ebenezer Church Cemetery with Rev. Ronnie Elmore officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Mervin McNees; mother, Clarice Fowler McNees Nethery; stepfather, Travis Rickman Nethery and two brothers, Michael Wayne McNees and Johnnie Will McNees.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Jo Fair Satcher McNees; two stepsons, Matthew Satcher (Michelle) and Jonathan Satcher; three grandchildren, Haley Marie Satcher, Madison Lee Satcher and Kara Elizabeth Satcher; brothers-in-law, Clifford Junkin and Mark Fair (Susan); sister-in-law, Sarah Belcher; his aunt, Alice Christian; nieces, Sheree Gilliam (Jeff), Kim Dougherty (Robert), Gala Espana (Ron) and Katie Fair-Graff (Travis); nephews, Phillip Junkin (Debbie) and Tim Junkin (Vickie) and his special little puppy, "Beau".
Don was born May 19, 1947 in Fernbank, Alabama. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Vietnam War and a retired carpenter for Sprouse Construction.
Honorary Pallbearers are Sandra and Tommy Pate, Christopher "Hebo" and Pam Pritchett, Tony and Sue Brock, Mark Jordan, Sherry Spearing, Regan and C. J. Bolton, employees of Reladyne and the nursing staff and Techs of 3rd floor and staff of ICU at GTR Baptist Memorial Hospital.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Memorial Giving, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
