The Burton Panthers picked up an important district victory on Friday night with a road win over Bremond.

The Panthers took home a 40-37 victory to move into a tie with Bremond in the district standings at 1-2.

Burton (9-6, 1-2 district) earned its first win over Bremond since the teams were put into a district together before the 2024-25 season.

The Panthers held off a Bremond comeback attempt to claim their win. Bremond won the fourth quarter 14-4, but could not get past the Panthers.

Burton dominated the first quarter 13-4 before taking taking a 25-20 lead into halftime. Burton then commanded a 11-3 third quarter before the Tigers attempted to come back.

Junior guard Kayden Patterson led Burton with 17 points. Junior forward Yobani Brewer added 13 points.

The Panthers will conclude their three-game road trip at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Mumford.
