The Burton Lady Panthers controlled both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor on Wednesday night in a commanding district win over Hearne.
Burton picked up a 73-25 win over the Lady Eagles in Hearne for its third consecutive win.
The Lady Panthers (25-5, 7-1 district) remained just behind Mumford for first place in District 26-2A after a 35-steal defensive effort.
Burton's quality defense turned into a comfortable lead for most of the night. After taking a 17-8 lead into the second period, the Lady Panthers held Hearne to just three points in the quarter to push their lead to 31-11 before halftime.
Sophomore guard Lexi Broesche, junior guard Valerie Hernandez and freshman forward Harper Hodde all scored seven points in the first half.
