Mizzou tennis saw its season come to a close at the hands of LSU in a 4-0 loss Wednesday in the first round of the SEC Tournament in Norman, Oklahoma.
The Tigers had some individual highlights in singles. Andrea Artimedi won her first set against Ella McDonald, and Alex Ackman was ahead 4-3 in the second set before LSU hit the 4-0 mark and won the match.
The result marks the end of a low season for Mizzou. Despite faring well against non-SEC opponents, it wasn’t able to secure any conference wins.
Silvia Chinellato’s first season as head coach of the Tigers ends with a 12-18 overall record.
Mizzou has already stepped up its recruiting efforts for next season. The Tigers have signed Alba Salles Canudas from Spain and Danielle Chapman from South Africa, joining an already worldwide roster that includes players from Italy, Argentina and Canada.
