The AISA Class AA Region 2 Wilcox Academy Wildcats closed out the regular season with a spooktacular 34-0 nonregional win on the road over the Crenshaw Christian Academy Cougars on Halloween (Oct. 31).
Julian Curry rushed for 144 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Wildcats. Marvin Moultry and Haas Terry each scored a rushing touchdown. And J.J. Sessions kicked four extra points.
Moultry led the defense with six tackles, followed by Jim Vick with five tackles. And Gabe Stockman recorded a fumble recovery.
The Wildcats end the regular season with an overall record of 8-2 and 4-1 region in region play, earning a second-place region finish.
Wilcox will host Hope Christian Academy in the first round of the playoffs on Friday November 7.
“The boys played great,” said Wilcox Academy head football coach Lebo Jones. He said he was so proud of the regular season results. “Now, we have to get to work for the playoffs.”
