Demopolis City Council on Dec. 18 approved a contract for $28, 845 with Eaves Construction to tear down the house at Fire Station No. 1 on US 80. The plan has been in the works but the council had to put the demolition on hold to get more bids from contractors. Now construction of the new building next to fire station can move forward. Todd and Cindy talk about it in this segment of the Black Belt Newscast.
