Boy Scout executive Leith Wilson to retire after 33 years

Leith Wilson won Citizen of the Year from Rotary Club of Selma in 2024.

Boy Scout leader Leith Wilson will be retiring after 33 years of serving the Black Belt region.

Wilson has spent 33 years as the Crane District Executive for the Boy Scouts of America and will retire this week. The Tukabatchee Area Council, BSA is hosting a Retirement Reception for Wilson on Tuesday, Feb. 25 at 5:30 p.m. in the Elkdale Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.

Wilson was named Citizen of the Year in 2024 by the Rotary Club of Selma. Wilson joined the Boy Scouts in December 1991 and has worked with children and adults in Dallas, Perry and Wilcox counties through the scouting program ever since.
