Korean auto parts supplier Seoyon E-Hwa Interior Systems Alabama LLC announced Tuesday plans for a $5 million expansion of its manufacturing facility in Dallas County, which will bring 60 new jobs.
In a press conference at the Selma & Dallas County Public Library Tuesday morning, economic development leaders and elected officials celebrated the industrial win for the area.
Seoyon E-Hwa, which has operated out of Craig Field Airport and Industrial Complex since 2005, will be adding a production line to make parts for Hyundai’s Tuscan SUV. The firm is a Tier 1 auto supplier to Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama located in Hope Hull, near Montgomery.
The Dallas County Commission on Monday night approved a tax abatement of about $200,000 for the expansion that Wayne Vardaman, executive director of the Economic Development Authority of Selma-Dallas County, said will be worth it considering the size investment Seoyon E-Hwa is putting in.
