Southern Perry County in central Alabama...
Central Dallas County in south central Alabama...
Northern Marengo County in southwestern Alabama...
Southern Greene County in west central Alabama...
Southern Hale County in west central Alabama...
Sumter County in west central Alabama...

* Until 1145 PM CDT.

* At 843 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain
have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Selma, Demopolis, Valley Grande, Marion, Livingston, York,
Greensboro, Uniontown, Cuba, Selmont-West Selmont, Jefferson,
Forkland, Boligee, Gainesville, Orrville, Epes, Newbern,
Faunsdale, Emelle and Dayton.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

FLASH FLOOD...RADAR INDICATED

.Heavy thunderstorms are forecast through early Thursday morning.
This activity has the potential to produce several inches of
rainfall for portions of Central Alabama. A broad area of Central
Alabama is included in a Flood Watch as there is some uncertainty
regarding exactly where the heaviest corridors of rain may occur.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...A portion of central Alabama, including the following
counties, Autauga, Barbour, Bibb, Blount, Bullock, Calhoun,
Chambers, Cherokee, Chilton, Clay, Cleburne, Coosa, Dallas,
Elmore, Etowah, Greene, Hale, Jefferson, Lee, Lowndes, Macon,
Marengo, Montgomery, Perry, Pickens, Pike, Randolph, Russell,
Shelby, St. Clair, Sumter, Talladega, Tallapoosa and Tuscaloosa.

* WHEN...Through Thursday morning.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur
in poor drainage and urban areas.
