The local United Way Campaign for 2024-2025 is in full swing.
The annual campaign is a chance for the community to help The United Way of Selma & Dallas County support 15 local agencies and several direct service programs that touch every aspect of life in Dallas County.
The United Way supports youth services, feeding programs, free medical care, domestic violence programs, mental health programs, elderly programs, literacy programs and emergency family assistance.
Over the past two years, United Way in conjunction with the Long Term Recovery Group has worked to provide relief to those affected by the tornado that hit Selma in January 2023. The United Way of Selma & Dallas County has helped with 53 relief cases by providing furniture needed to complete a home. United Way funded three home repairs in July totaling over $45,000.
