16 Dallas County nonprofits were among many others to benefit from a round of grants provided by the Black Belt Community Foundation (BBCF).Â
A celebration was held on Saturday, June 1 in which BBCF announced that a total of $514,433 had been awarded to 130 nonprofits throughout the Black Belt region.Â
Dallas County nonprofits received a total of $60,401 in grants ranging from $1,000 to $10,000.Â

"Celebrating our 20th year, the Black Belt Community Foundation is proud to award over half a million dollars in 130 separate grants to community and arts organizations across the 12 counties we serve," said BBCF President Felicia Lucky. "This record-breaking milestone reflects our enduring commitment to empowering local initiatives, fostering growth and impacting the entire Black Belt region."
